Here are the supplies we purchased:
- bulk roll of Warm & Natural Cotton Batting (paid link)
- Olfa 60mm rotary cutter (paid link)
- Olfa rotary blades (paid link)
- If you don't have a large surface on which to use the rotary cutter and prefer shears for cutting, I highly recommend these high-quality large Kai scissors (paid link) which are extremely sharp and tough enough to use with leather. (I also make leather moccasins.)
Your other options are to buy the supplies anywhere they sell quilt batting - a local quilting store, a fabric store, etc. This may be a good idea if you want to get just a small quantity to experiment with the batting - cutting it, folding it, washing it, etc.
And of course, if you have access to a good local secondhand store, that route could be even more economical.
